Welcome to The World of Twitter

Being a New Yorker, I love the fast paced life. So Twitter came natural to me, quick and easy access to the world of knowledge pertaining to only my interests. I choose what I want to hear, rather than waiting through a sea of garbage on the nightly news for them to finally let me know the status of Lance Armstrong’s bicycle accident.

Turns out I found out Lance wiped out in Spain and broke his collarbone noon time on twitter from a fellow tweeter, first glimpse of it on the internet news like yahoo was hours later. Then throughout the day, we received updates from Lance including pictures of him in a sling. This form of communication, for an avid outdoor runner and cyclist was important news to me. I was cheering on Lance for a great success at Tour De France, and wanted to be in the loop every step of the way. Not only was I getting first hand information from the man himself, but real time and for free.

If you have heard of Twitter, but you are not tweeting just quite yet, have a look. Pretty soon you will be exploring all the neat tools that you can use to keep yourself connected at ease. Twitterberry for the blackberry, Tweetdeck on your desktop which now integrates Facebook, and Twitterfon for iphone. Plus so much more. If you are a business, you can list your company on Twibs. All for free.

With this blog, I hope to educate those small businesses, moms, dads, anyone who wants to learn more about this phenomenon. Stay tuned and join me for the ride.
