Where was I when…Twitter

As the years go by, I am sure I will be asked “Where were you when you heard Michael Jackson died?”..on twitter

My mom would share stories of where she was when she heard JFK and Elvis died. I will never forget listening to the radio on the way to the beach when I found out Jerry Garcia died. Growing up in the 80’s I cannot forget the magical memories of watching Thriller on MTV, a revolutionary way of sharing music through short film. Now, June 25, 2009 as I was funneling through some tweets, I see Perez Hilton reporting “Michael Jackson suffers heart attack, rushed to Los Angeles hospital!” The tweets continue as reported from many different personalities when Perez Hilton then broke out the TMZ report that he was dead. Andy Roddick, the tennis star who was in Wimbledon tweets: “regardless of what u think of him he was completely revolutionary and will be missed” Within a couple of minutes, every minute my tweetdeck would report 100 new search findings for Michael Jackson. Then Perez Hilton changes his avatar to a black and white photo of Michael Jackson.
…and it continues, as people battle confirmed and unconfirmed reports
